Lukas Johannes Aigner

Lukas Johannes Aigner (born 1974 in Linz, Austria) is an Austrian painter and gallerist. Raised in an artistic environment as the son of the painter Fritz Aigner, he developed an early interest in visual expression. He studied stage and costume design at the Mozarteum University Salzburg before continuing his education in painting at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Wolfgang Herzig, graduating with distinction.

His work explores the relationship between inner experience and visible reality. Moving between figuration and abstraction, Aigner creates paintings in which flowers, human presence and spatial atmospheres become metaphors for memory, transformation and psychological states. Over the years, his artistic language has evolved toward an increasingly reduced and distinctive visual vocabulary, culminating in his ongoing series of Floralisations.

In 2011, he founded his first gallery and studio space in Linz. Since 2021, he has been running Galerie Lukas Johannes Aigner, an independent exhibition space dedicated to his own work as well as selected artistic projects.

Aigner’s paintings are held in private and public collections and have been shown in numerous exhibitions. His work is characterized by a search for clarity beyond the visible, inviting viewers into spaces where perception, emotion and imagination intersect.
